|The Genesis of Eve:
In my fulfilled stone belly is your unique beginning.
And in my hand I hold the full-filled womb of world.
Beneath my curving fingers lies the apple of fecundity.
I am not old but older; worlds beyond worlds know me
for I am greater than all the stratospheres and marvels.
I am incorruptible, wiser than light and darkness and sound.
Oh, so much fuller than sea, or sky or air.
I am ancient of ancient days: in thrall to unseen gods;
I am the She whose waiting belly swelled
At your unique conception.
And, since my left and gentle hand holds all creation's fruits
so in my other, powerful hand, I set the seal on birthings.
I know the full beginning and I know the final end.
Each one of you is here, within me, and none grows here
that was not then intended in some black primordial state.
And none not with me now shall ever enter in
to this immortal gateway to the mortal spheres.
I am stone, I am fixed, I am immutable.
I am the Alpha and the Omega.
