When I visit an exhibition I like to buy some postcards afterwards to remind me of the most striking pictures I've seen. They go up on the kitchen wall. But it often happens that the pictures I really want are not available as postcards and if they are, sometimes the colours are wrong. Most disappointing. Last week I went to the superb El Greco exhibition at the National Gallery and found that the free guide, which describes every painting, says which ones are available as postcards. That helps. And the colours on the postcards seemed pretty good. Perhaps things are looking up.
