With gilt bronze swing-handle and locks, the two superimposed compartments lined with intarsia with silver[?], applied ivory and velvet, a mirror in the lower compartment; the arms of Brandenburg and Holstein painted on the top, presumably recording the marriage of 30th November 1651 between Georg Albrecht Markgraf von Brandenburg-Kulmbach (1619-1666) and Marie Elisabeth von Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg (1628-1664). Ivory box probably imported from India or North Africa and painted in Northern Europe.
